  • Notes
    • (Research):Bidder, Ann (1799-1844) daughter of William Bidder and Elizabeth Parker; sister of GPB, married Jacob Thompson in 1834

Jacob Thompson, whose painting rooms in town were in Little Brook Street, Hanover Square, had left London, but was still occasionally there for a few weeks at a time. On the 14th of August, 1834, he married, at the church of St. Saviour, Southwark, Ann Parker Bidder, of Exeter and Luton, sister of George Parker Bidder, who in after-life became as celebrated and successful as an engineer as in earlier days he had been for his wonderful power of mental calculation, and for the systems of figures he had invented.
His first wife was Ann, who died at the Hermitage, Hackthorpe, in 1844, leaving a son, Jacob.
