    Industrial School, Beckett Street, Leeds where Hannah worked as a maid
    more precisely the Moral and Industrial Training School for the Pauper Children of the Township of Leeds in Beckett Street which was opened in 1848 to great fanfare. Later it was absorbed into the workhouse and then St James Hospital.

    The Barker home in the 1870s and where great grandfather Benjamin died in May 1874. The picture shows 1-7 Barrister Street, part of a row of back-to-back terraced houses. Ginnels (alleyways) between houses numbers 1 and 3, and 5 and 7 give access to Bertie Street.
