  • Notes 
    • Edward Pickard was the second child of John Vine Hall. His son, Capt John Vine Hall, married Alice Blackett. She was the daughter of the renowned Australian architect Edmund Thomas Blackett. Edmund's brother, John Blackett was the father of Rev William Russell Blackett, whose daughter was our Monica Grace Blackett. Edward followed in the footsteps of his father by moving into religious publishing at the University of Oxford, eventually becoming senior managing partner in the Clarendon Press. Five of his sons went to Oxford: Arthur 1874, Charles 1856, Edward 1855, Francis 1868, James 1862. Edward attained his MA late in life in 1877 when he was 69.
