Tracing the disparate ancestries of four great families

Tree: Brooksbank

Tree Name  Brooksbank
Description  The amazing saga of the rise and fall of two noble families: Lamplugh in Cumberland and Brooksbank in Yorkshire. The Lamplughs gained their wealth from vast estates in Cumbria - and the minerals which lay under them. The Brooksbanks exploited the fast-flowing streams of Yorkshire which powered the mills of the Industrial Revolution and went on to make their mark in the City of London. The two families became united by marriage but the erosion of their fame and fortune was blowing in the wind.
